Felix Maus
mid-Winter update
Dear Ones,
Just a few updates. I sent the Felix Maus book off to the printer yesterday. Not the final version, but the one that goes to my editor in NY. After that, a pre-release copy, and then it'll be done! Very excited and pre-relieved.
Also, if some of you got more copies of the last update i sent out, i'm sorry. Software weirdness. If you didn't get it at all, you can read that update here.
Post-Op and the New Year
Dear Ones,
Felix's surgery went fine. The anesthesia was always for me the scary part, and he dived into and out of that with barely a ripple. An hour after the surgery he was famished, and back to his smiling self. We were able to breathe again with ease.
I wrote more about that day over on the Caring Bridge site, and later this year i'll bring all those posts over here to this website --both the journal and guestbook entries.
Christmas Eve, Portland
Dear Ones,
Thank you for receiving this. I know it's a busy world and i deeply appreciate you taking the time.
We are well, grateful, home. We stay pretty close to that these days.
Felix is having surgery on Dec. 31st, to address the fact that his ulna (our outer forearm bone) is growing faster than the radius (inner) on the right arm, b/c of the fall. he's not happy about anesthesia, and views the prospect of ending up with one arm shorter than the other with some dismay. He does take heart in our sheer continued existence together.
